In 1989 jack Blades from Night Ranger, Tommy Shaw from Styx , Michael (who in the hell is the drummer) Cartallone and Ted Nugent joined forces to form the Damn Yankees. They put out 2 albums during there first go round from 1989-1996.. During that time Ted put out his first ballad, High Enough. Ted's searing guitar work helped make the song a hit amongst us Ballads Suck crowd.

They were great to see live too. Uncle Teddly making fun of Tommy's Styx roots all the time.

All from successful bands on their own...yet they took this all star band seriously.

The results were successful and perhaps another "reunion" is in order.

Loved the driving bass on this...simple...punching...keeping the time...especially in the solo!

Definitely a 'super group' in the early 90's. I saw them in concert with Bad Co opening in the summer of 1991. Great show, very entertaining. It was cool that they played several songs off of that first album, but also hit Nugent solo, Styx and Night Ranger tracks as well.

would love to see a video (or hear the audio) from that show.

A song that probably didn't get any radio play, but I always found to be a bit entertaining. Lots of energy here:

Piledriver:

This always made me chuckle... Found at about the 02:23 mark:

I was cruizin' backstage in Des Moines, Iowa
And a little girl comes up next to me and says
"Mr. Nugent do you think my skirt is short enough?"
I said, "Baby, you want to be alive you've got to piledrive!"

Absolutely NOTHING bad about power ballads, and this song is no exception!
