Speaking of which, I've been going through some of my thousands of CDs in recent weeks/months re-ripping music and just dusting off the old catalog.
Came across my Crimson Idol disc a couple of weeks back, made me want to cry. I have the '98 remastered release with the bonus disc. Well make...
This week marks the 27th anniversary of the US release of The Crimson Idol. Don't know why the rest of the world got it like 8 or 9 months earlier, but it is what it is. I still like to consider the release date as 1992.
Anyway, outstanding album!

Just fired up their third album, Dusk. I haven't listened to this album in probably quite a few years. Not because it isn't any good, but probably because I just don't have the attachment to this album like I do to the first two.
I can't say it enough , Jake E Lee is one hell of a...
Yeah, the Dirty Shirley songs that I've heard have been pretty decent. As you said, nothing groundbreaking, but still pretty good. I haven't heard the whole album yet, so I'm not sure that I want to buy it, but I've thought about it.
The Lynch-nerd / completionist in me has a hard time not...
Yep, I've heard of them. I remember watching some YT videos a few years back. I didn't watch everything out there, but do specifically remember them because of the name. Some good, gritty and dirty pickups, which I do have a fond appreciation for in terms of getting a good 70's classic rock...
Been working from home for almost 6 weeks now. Honestly, I'm loving it and I wish that I could do this until I retire. I get more done in less time -and- every day is "no pants day". What's not to love about that?
Add to it, I cut out about 100 miles of driving every day (yeah I 50 miles...
Sidenote, I almost bought an SG in the mid 80's. My first guitar was some Yamaha POS that was less than memorable, but it was good enough to build my interesting in playing. I think that I had that guitar for maybe 6 months or so before I wanted to upgrade. Looked at a Les Paul as so many...
I wish that I had the time, tools and energy (and I supposed $) to fix up, refinish or restore old guitars. I think it would could be fun, but I'm also not sure that I would have the patience for it.
Good luck the rest of the way and keep sharing progress pix.
I finally got around to listening to the new album from start to finish in one sitting. It feels like two completely different albums if you were to split the track list in half. The first half (5 or 6 songs) are pretty decent. They certainly aren't great, but t's not bad and worth a listen...

Speaking of Ozzy, it was this week back in 1982 (March 19th) that Randy passed away in that fateful airplane accident. :(
Five years later, on the anniversary of Randy's death, Ozzy released the Tribute album
I have always liked Dennis DeYoung. I know that some were turned off by some of his ballady ways in Styx, but I like the guy.
About 20 yrs ago, he was in town for a show so he stopped by the local classic rock station for an in-studio interview that morning. They brought in a piano and he...
