I like some Nemesea songs but have never really patiently delved into a full album of theirs, even though I own all but their first one. I've listened to this song three or four times today, and I like it more with each subsequent replay. I'll always miss Manda Ophuis, but I think I like the new vocalist, Sanne Mieloo. We'll see what they can do with White Flag.

I like this song, too. I googled the band for more info and they are listed as "alternative rock" but this song is a tad heavy for that genre, IMO. I think they still fall into the symphonic metal / gothic rock / symphonic rock genres.......

another song off White Flag

at the moment I am listening to Mana...found the full album on YT. This is a really good album, BTW.

I just heard that song for the first time the other day. It's not bad.

I have absolutely no idea why they're classified as alternative rock. LOL. They started off as somewhat of a symphonic metal band and went into more of a rock direction from their second album (In Control) onwards, gradually developing a more mainstream, radio-friendly sound. They seem like they're going more in a Lacuna Coil-ish hard rock direction with this new album. I like it, but I've been misled by their singles and then disappointed with their albums in the past, so I'm only cautiously optimistic. Hope springs eternal, though!

Yeah, I can see them going after that Lacuna Coil or Within Temptation vibe, which would be going after a more mainstream sound. I am ok with that, though.

While I got you on the subject of those type bands......Ever hear of Macbeth?

I have no problem with it either.

Nope. I just listened to the first two songs of theirs that popped up in a quick YouTube search.

They're like a nonaffluent man's even more Italian version of Lacuna Coil!

I agree. They formed at about the same time too. Macbeth's debut album, Romantic Tragedy's Crescendo, is worth your time to track down and give a listen. The vocalist, Cristina, doesn't have that soprano operatic voice, which I think fits the 'beauty and the beast' beautifully. That was the only Macbeth album with her as vocalist.
