I'm going to start this thread with this nod...HOW MANY BANDS HAVE INFLUENCED AS MANY BANDS AS THEM? An immovable force that I believe was the model for "This Is Spinal Tap".

Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, formed in 1974. The band currently consists of vocalist Robin Zander, guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, and touring drummer Daxx Nielsen. Original drummer Bun E. Carlos stopped touring with the band in 2010 but remains a partner in their business organization.

Cheap Trick released their debut album in 1977 and first found success in Japan with the release of their second album, In Color, later that year. The band would not achieve mainstream popularity in the United States until 1979 with their breakthrough album Cheap Trick at Budokan. Over the course of their career the band has experienced several resurgences of popularity and has toured consistently, playing over 5,000 shows. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

A band I've seen AC/DC open up for and Cheap Trick open up for AC/DC. I've seen them in arenas, forums and even bars!

I've seen them without Tom and Robin and Bun...I've personally met them all in the 80's when their tour bus invaded the Malibu Grand Prix I worked at in Orlando as a kid...and then ran into them at a hotel lounge after they performed at the old Sombrero in Tampa more than a decade later.

A band that delivers the goods no matter if there's 10 people or 100,000 in attendance. I thought they had a deal with the Devil as Robin never aged and his voice never cracked...saw them last year...let's just say the cracks are starting to show...but Robin...you had a helluva run! Sorry about the wrinkles!

I know that some of what they do qualifies.

I'd say they qualify as hard pop rock. It's your forum, dude, you can put them where you want. The important thing is that we get the chance to talk about Cheap Trick.
