Finally sat down and listened to this while playing some Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational.

The happy vibe of that game meshed well with the happy vibe of this music, leaving me feeling quite...happy. :giggle:

Anathema is always a good pick when I can't decide what to listen to. I listened to this excellent album again tonight while playing some Hot Shots Golf.

I've been listening to Chelsea Wolfe's Hiss Spun on the way to and from work for the last few days. It's also a great album.

I bought this Subrosa album almost two years ago and haven't listened to it for a while. I'll have to do that at some point soon. I'm not typically into doomy stuff like this, but this is a pretty good song.

Any Omnium Gatherum album is an automatic purchase for me. Their newest release, The Burning Cold, is no exception. It won me over on the first listen and will likely only continue to grow on me.

They deserve a thread. I'll get around to it.

This is an excellent example of a lost gem.....the vocalist is amazing and so is the music!!! They remind me of Bad Co.

I listened to Season of Ghosts' first album, The Human Paradox, again tonight. I really like it.

I also sat down and listened to Evolution by Once Human on Amazon Music, and I liked it so much, I went ahead and bought it. Very good album. Here's the opening track.

I listened to Revival by Light the Torch (formerly known as Devil You Know) on YouTube while playing WWE 2K19 earlier today. I wasn't expecting much, but I ended up being very pleasantly surprised. I went ahead and bought it. It's a pretty good album. Howard Jones's vocals are great, as always, and the instrumentation is solid as well.

I've been listening to Katatonia and Neurosis for the last couple of days. They're two very good bands that have been making very good music for decades.

Not sure if I've posted any Sonata Arctica on here before, but I've been listening to them off and on for the last couple of days. They're a solid Finnish symphonic power metal band.

Also, that Light the Torch album I mentioned a couple of posts up just gets better and better with every listen. My favorite songs on it are The Safety of Disbelief and this song, Raise the Dead.

Alcest is a French band that combines elements of shoegaze, post metal, and black metal. I bought a few of their albums about a year after I first got into metal, and they were okay in small doses, but I never really got into them overall. I decided to listen to them on Spotify yesterday and today while playing some All-Star Fruit Racing and Gran Turismo Sport. I don't know what I didn't like about them before, but that was then, and this is now. I dig 'em.

In particular, their newest album, Kodama, is really good. I love the cover art.

The album they made before that, Shelter, is pretty solid as well.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you: The Hu. They're a Mongolian band doing some very original and interesting work. The vocals are done in a traditional Mongolian throat singing/growling style, similar in sound to what Heilung does. They have somewhat of a metal aesthetic/vibe and are classified by some as such but sound more like a hard folk rock band to me. Either way, I like them!
